Hi, my name is Barbara Choo and I live in one of Southeast Asia's top traveled destination, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with my three dogs and a Persian cat.

I created my first bear when I was about twelve and since then, teddy bear making has become an addictive hobby for me. I am now working full time making teddy bears and selling them online though my website at Merry-Go-Bears.

I learned the techniques on bear making through books and magazines and improved on my self-taught skills through time and experience over the years. Most of my bears are dressed with beaded jewelery that I made myself.

Parting with my creations sometimes pull on my heartstrings but then again, I am proud and happy knowing they are finding new homes in faraway, beautiful countries that I can only wish and dream of visiting one day.

On the leading edge of the teddy bear business in Malaysia, I feel that artist teddy bear making is very much in its infancy today but I do hope I can create the awareness for Malaysians to recognize and appreciate this art on teddy bear collecting and making.

Bear making has brought out in me, a contentment and happiness to do what I enjoy doing. I believe with determination and effort, my work will be appreciated.
